Sergei Vlassov (born 1980) has PhD in Material Science (2011, University of Tartu) and Master Degree in Applied Physics (2007, University of Tartu). His research activities are focused mainly on experimental investigations of various nanostructures and nanostructured materials for functional applications and future technologies.
In the MATTER project, Sergei is responsible for so-called «nanomanipulation» competence that consists in performing fine experiments with individual nanostructures inside a scanning electron microscope (SEM) — a technique that allows assembly and testing of prototype devices like single-nanowire transistors, nanoelectromechanical systems etc. Sergei previously participated in numerous national and international projects including personal research grand, and has supervised several award-winning theses. By the end of 2020 Sergei has 82 publications in Google Scholar database.
