Experimental nanoscience

The experimental nanoscience group deals with the characterization of the properties of nanostructures using different microscopy methods including electron and probe microscopy and the study of nanoscale phenomena. We specialize in the real-time manipulation of nanostructures combining the advantages of probe and electron microscopy techniques.

  • Diffusion related phenomena in metal structures.
  • Field emission related studies from nanoscale tips.
  • Nanomanipulation experiments to determine the mechanical properties of nanowires.
  • Characterization of tribological properties of nanostructure-substrate systems.
