EU funding for a New MSCA Doctoral Network

The European Commission has awarded funding for a new Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Doctoral Network “BIOHYBRITE – Decoding and designing biomolecular systems with hybrid DNA:RNA:protein nanotechnology”. Assoc. Prof. Veikko Linko’s group is one of the participants in the network and joins forces with research groups and industrial partners from Germany, UK, Italy, France, Spain and Belgium. BIOHYBRITE is designed as an innovative and pioneering training network for doctoral candidates, and the collaboration synergizes a unique toolset of theoretical and experimental methods by combining all sequence-based biomolecules into a unified bottom-up nanobiotechnology. The consortium will collectively build modular platforms and hybrid nanodevices with a range of novel functions for molecular sensing, information processing and actuation, and therefore pave the way for a plethora of applications such as future nanomedicine based on active molecular systems.
