Professor Flyura Djurabekova, University of Helsinki
🎓 Opponent:
Christopher Hudson Moore, PhD, Sandia National Laboratories, USA
In his doctoral work, Roni used multiscale and multiphysics simulations to model the nanoscale processes involved in the initiation of vacuum breakdown. His research brings together electric-field effects, electron emission, thermal and atomistic processes, and plasma formation into a unified modelling framework – covering the different stages from surface diffusion and heating to the formation of plasma.
